Terms of Service
The rules for using Reels Downloader, written to be read rather than skimmed past. Use the tool for content you own or have permission to use, do not automate it, and take responsibility for what you do with the file.
Effective 10 September 2026 · Last updated 10 September 2026
In one paragraph: this is a free, as-is tool for saving public Instagram Reels. You may use it for your own content, for personal offline viewing, or for content you are licensed to use. You may not use it to access private content, to scrape in bulk, or to republish other people’s work as your own. We are not affiliated with Instagram, we licence you no content, and you are responsible for your own use.
1. Acceptance of these terms
By accessing reelsdownloader.org or using any feature of it, you agree to these terms of service and to our privacy policy, which forms part of them. If you do not agree, do not use the site. These terms apply whether you use the service once or a thousand times, and whether or not you read them, which is why we have tried to keep them readable.
2. What the service is
Reels Downloader is a free web tool that takes a publicly accessible Instagram Reel or Facebook video link, finds the video files that the platform's own player uses, and passes the resulting MP4 file to your browser. Files are relayed as they download and are not stored on our servers.
We are an independent project. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or otherwise connected to Instagram, Facebook, Meta Platforms, Inc. or any of their affiliates. Trademarks referenced on this site belong to their respective owners and are used descriptively.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use this service, or older where your local law sets a higher minimum age for consenting to online services. By using the site you confirm that you meet that requirement and have the legal capacity to accept these terms.
4. Acceptable use
You may use the service to download:
- Reels and videos you created and published yourself, for example to recover a published video when the original project file is gone.
- Public videos for personal, non-commercial offline viewing, such as saving a clip to watch during a flight or somewhere without coverage.
- Content you are licensed to use, where the rights holder has granted you permission or the content is published under a permissive licence.
- Public content for legitimate research, journalism or archival purposes, to the extent permitted by the copyright law of your jurisdiction.
In every case you are responsible for confirming that your particular use is lawful where you are. Nothing on this site is legal advice.
5. Prohibited use
You must not use the service to:
- Access, or attempt to access, content from private accounts or content otherwise restricted by a creator's privacy settings.
- Republish, redistribute or monetise another person's content without their permission, including re-uploading it to any platform as your own work.
- Use downloaded content in advertising, paid products, client deliverables or monetised compilations without a licence from the rights holder.
- Access the service by automated means (scripts, bots, scrapers, headless browsers or third-party integrations) or at a volume a human user could not achieve manually.
- Circumvent, disable or interfere with rate limiting, security features or access controls.
- Interfere with the operation of the service, including through denial-of-service attempts or attempts to compromise our infrastructure.
- Misrepresent your identity or your authority to act for a rights holder, including in takedown correspondence.
- Use the service in any way that breaches applicable law, or that breaches the terms of the platform the video comes from, such as Instagram's terms of use or Facebook's Terms of Service.
6. Intellectual property
Downloading a video does not transfer any ownership or licence in it. Reels remain the property of their creators or their licensors, and all rights they hold are unaffected by the existence of this tool. We grant you no rights in any third-party content, because we hold none to grant.
The site itself, including its text, layout, stylesheet, logo and other original material, is our copyright. You may not copy it wholesale or present it as your own, although ordinary quoting with attribution is welcome.
If you are a rights holder and believe your work is being infringed in a way we can act on, contact info@reelsdownloader.org. Our contact page sets out what to include. Creators may also ask us to exclude their account from the tool entirely.
7. Availability and changes
The service is provided free of charge and without any uptime commitment. It relies on public interfaces controlled by a third party that may change at any time, so interruptions are possible and sometimes unavoidable. We may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the service at any time without notice or liability, and may impose or adjust rate limits to protect availability for everyone.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, or that any particular Reel will be downloadable at any particular time or quality. Nothing in this clause excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, nor for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill or anticipated savings, arising out of or in connection with your use of the service. Our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with these terms is limited to one hundred pounds sterling (£100). If you are a consumer, this clause does not affect your statutory rights.
10. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim, demand, loss or expense, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your use of the service, your breach of these terms, or your infringement of any third party's rights, including any claim brought by a copyright holder in respect of content you downloaded and then used.
11. Third-party services and links
The site links to third-party resources and carries third-party advertising. We do not control those destinations and are not responsible for their content, practices or availability. Your dealings with a third party, including any advertiser, are between you and them. When you download a video, our server fetches it from the platform's content delivery network on your behalf, and the platform's own terms and privacy policy govern that content.
12. Suspension and termination
We may restrict, suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have breached these terms or that your activity risks harm to the service or to other users. Because we operate no accounts, restrictions are applied at the network level. Clauses that by their nature should survive termination, among them sections 6, 8, 9, 10, 13 and 14, continue to apply afterwards.
13. Governing law
These terms and any dispute arising out of them are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident in another country, you retain the benefit of any mandatory provisions of consumer protection law that apply where you live.
14. General provisions
- Entire agreement. These terms and the privacy policy are the entire agreement between us regarding the service.
- Severability. If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, it is severed or narrowed to the minimum extent necessary and the remainder stays in force.
- No waiver. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
- Assignment. You may not assign your rights under these terms. We may assign ours in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
- Changes. We may amend these terms; the effective date above reflects the current version and material changes are noted below.
