Every video comes out as MP4, the format phones, laptops and editors all open. Resolution follows the pin: most are 720p and some are 1080p for a Pinterest video download in HD. There is no 4K on Pinterest, so a tool offering it is upscaling.

Copy the video pin's link
Open the video in the Pinterest app, tap Share and pick Copy link. In a desktop browser, open the pin and copy the URL from the address bar. A pin.it short link is fine.

Paste the link in the box at the top of this page and press Download. A card appears with a preview of the clip, its pixel size and the MP4 and MP3 buttons.

Save the video file
Tap Download for the video file. On Android it lands in Downloads and then Gallery. On iPhone, open it in the Files app, tap Share and choose Save Video to move it into Photos.

Is it legal to download Pinterest videos?
Saving a clip for yourself, or one you made or have permission to use, is generally fine. Re-posting someone else's video or using it commercially without permission can break copyright law and Pinterest's terms.
Why does the preview play without sound when the download has it?
For videos stored as separate picture and sound tracks, the preview on this page plays the picture track only, so it loads fast. The MP4 you download has both tracks joined and plays with sound.
Can I paste a board link to get several videos at once?
Yes. A board link lists up to 50 pins. Most videos get a Download button straight away. Videos that need their picture and sound joined are prepared for the first 10 only; later ones show Open pin, which loads that video on its own.
